Another Year Begins with a Successful #MapOff

Most people would probably describe the week of February 20-24 as straightforward and ordinary. For those of us here at MapAnything, that week was anything but traditional. Instead, they were five days filled with non-stop maptastic memories, made at our 2nd Annual Sales Kickoff!

Each year, the whole MapAnything crew gathers at our headquarters here in Charlotte, to reminisce about successes from the previous year and to reveal our exciting plans for the year ahead. From learning about company messaging updates, to adoption and training on a new sales methodology, to interactive department breakout sessions, to riveting addresses from special guest speakers, nothing is ever left out. We even make time to celebrate!

Here is a recap of all of this year’s notable festivities.

February 21 | Day One Highlights

The first in a line-up of wise and compelling speakers, MapAnything CEO John Stewart led the group through a review of all our 2016 organizational accomplishments and announced our focus areas for 2017.

 

We had the pleasure of hosting special guest and former NBA Commissioner, David Stern at our kickoff. Drawing from his unique professional background, he was able to deliver an entertaining and informative speech on “Scaling a Startup to a Global Brand.” We even drafted him to #TeamMapAnything during his visit.

Day One ended on a sweet note, with a custom-made MapAnything cake and a team-wide cheers to a great 2017! We appreciate Intersect Group sponsoring this exciting evening.

February 22 | Day Two Highlights

A product-driven company, everyone at MapAnything looks forward to this day all year! It’s when we find out about additional features that we plan to add to MapAnything, as well as receive teasers for some new offerings that may be on the horizon. All-in-all we enjoy a few fun-filled hours of innovative strategy discussion, led by our talented Product team. This year was no exception!

Then it was time for some team bonding! Leadership from each department decided how they and their teams would spend the evening. Some chose more formal dinners, like Sales heading to Maggiano’s, and some chose a more active outings, like Products heading to Park Lanes. And then there was Marketing, who opted for the incredible view provided at Fahrenheit. No matter the team, or the location, this night brought us all together in celebration and camaraderie!

February 23 | Day Three Highlights

Each team met separately for the day and focused on what they do best! Strategy development, work shops, training and a friendly #mapathon were all on the docket. It’s hard to say which department had the most enjoyable, and productive, day…

We rounded off the day with a Mappy Hour, hosted by one of our valued client, Legion Brewing and sponsored by Carahsoft! A special thanks to both for giving us an evening of delicious food, wonderful drinks and great company. Plus, we also held our first-ever Mappy Awards.

February 24 | Day 4 Highlights

The final day of Kickoff launched with Agility Training for our Product Team! Leslie Morse, from Solutions IQ, led the session helping the crew learn how to up their game in the coming months.

Our dedicated Sales team underwent their second day of Sandler training as well. No matter the angle, they looked sharper & their skills even more polished afterwards!
