We understand how valuable your time is! If you’re not caught up in important meetings all day, then you're probably trying to finish that huge last minute project your boss sprung on you last week. We get it. And although you love using MapAnything, the last thing you have time to do right now is read through our exciting, but extensive, Spring 2017 Release Notes.  

Have no fear. I’ve done that part for you and pulled out all the major highlights you need in order to navigate this release.  We’ve also included a recording of our Spring 2017 Release Readiness webinar above that includes an interactive demo of all new features and updates.

New Features

MapAnything Core - Enhanced Marker Styling

Map markers will now be formatted as SVG (Scalable Vector Graphic) files.

What this means for you

  • The rendering and scalability of map markers, across various screen sizes, will now be sharper.
  • All marker labels will also now appear within each marker, rather than outside, producing a cleaner looking map.
  • Markers will automatically style themselves, in order to ensure the best readability. (i.e. light marker backgrounds will automatically get darker labels and vice versa)

MapAnything Core - Routing Enhancements

The Routing tab, within MapAnything, has been redesigned to reflect a more intuitive interface.

What this means for you

  • New icons and tips have been added to make functions and routing criteria more clear. Just the look of each criteria was updated, not the criteria themselves.
  • Customizable criteria still include: Route Start Time, Route End Time, Appointment Start Time and Appointment Duration.
  • The time based routes waypoint duration maximum was increased from 2 hours and 45 minutes to 5 hours and 45 minutes

MapAnything Core - Search Enhancements

The MapAnything search tool will now have global search capabilities.

What this means for you

  • Search results will now include: places/POIs, PLUS Salesforce records in plotted marker layers and Salesforce records with a configured base object
  • You will now be able to click on any search item returned in the drop down and it will automatically navigate you to that record on the map
  • There are now two areas a search can be conducted - one on the POI tab in the sidebar and one in the upper righthand corner of the map pane

MapAnything Core - Nearby Lightning Component

This new component enables users to add visual context, through an embedded mini map, to records in Salesforce.

What this means for you

  • You will now be able to see an individual record, as well as those records nearby, plotted on a map, on that record’s page layout
  • The filters for these Nearby maps can be adjusted to fit your needs (to learn how to make adjustments, please visit MapAnything Support or contact your Customer Success Manager)
  • This component is available both in Lightning and Classic editions

MapAnything Live - Last Report Date Filter

An advanced field filter option for Last Report Date has been added to the Create/Edit Live Layer interface.

What this means for you

  • You will now be able to plot layers and report on Live assets based on criteria you specify with regards to their Last Report Date.

  • Additional licenses required - MapAnything Live is a separate product from MapAnything Core
  • Special configuration required


New Product Offerings

MapAnything Guide

MapAnything Guide is separate from MapAnything Core’s routes. Guide uses a specialized algorithm to generate optimized multi-day route plans based on your Salesforce data.

Benefits

  • Maximizes revenue by minimizing time in transit
  • Helpful for long term planning where an organization has an established workflow

MapAnything Connector for ArcGIS

The MapAnything Connector for ArcGIS allows you to visualize both Salesforce and ArcGIS Online data within MapAnything.

  • More powerful insights can be drawn from your Salesforce data, coupled with ArcGIS data.
  • ArcGIS Connect uses OAuth 2.0 to keep your sensitive ArcGIS data secure within MApAnything.
  • Connecting ArcGIS Online data with MapAnything is a simple process.
