Our Acquisition of TerrAlign
Sets a New Bar for Complete Field Sales Planning, Execution, and Tracking
As you know, we’re driven by using location as an accelerator in every step of the field sales and service process. We’ve just taken a major step forward with our acquisition of TerrAlign, a leader in sales resource optimization and revenue-based territory design. This is a significant advancement for companies with large field sales and service teams. Enterprises can no longer afford to design territories that are geographically equivalent, but unbalanced in terms of value of potential sales, number of accounts, and travel efficiency. Intelligent territory design, which balances these aspects of sales, not only makes the sales process easier, it accelerates revenue. Research shows that optimizing territory design in this way can increase sales by 2 to 7% without any change in total resources or sales strategy. This addition to the MapAnything LoT platform balances sales potential, workload, and routes among territories and therefore creates equity and focus for each field representative.
The first two questions field sales and service leaders asks are: how many reps do I need and where they should be deployed? Before today, these questions could be answered using a variety of siloed solutions and a lot of guesswork. With this acquisition, both questions are easily answered. MapAnything customers gain access to fully integrated, data-driven territory design along with the power of the platform they already enjoy. TerrAlign customers gain access to the industry’s most advanced scheduling, routing, and sales execution platform. Location is at the heart of each of these functions. Combining them within a single, powerful LoT platform benefits not only sales leadership and the CFO, it also makes it easier for reps in the field to do their job.
This acquisition completes the major components of our Location-of-Things vision. While new capabilities and enhancements will continue to be developed for the platform, we are excited that we can now touch every part of the sales planning and execution process. We will quickly integrate the solutions so our customers can plan territories more effectively, create sales plans that are complete with routes and schedules, streamline field execution, track progress, and analyze results with one, integrated, end-to-end solution. The combination of MapAnything and TerrAlign represents the most comprehensive Location-of-Things solution for Salesforce®. We couldn’t be more excited about its potential!
